What You Won’t Do For Love - BroHamM (Bobby Caldwell Cover)

The first video to start off the 6-video series is the song “What You Won’t Do For Love,” by Bobby Caldwell played by BrohamM. The group BrohamM is a six-piece band featuring Larry, Curtis Junior and Lenard Hammond. Curtis Sr’s warm personality and fine playing was one of my first live perfor- mance inspirations. I would go to the Sunday night jam and I’ll never forget Curtis saying "Hey, do this riff." So, it’s great to have the brothers back in my life, and happy to have the group BrohamM be the first group to kick off the Cooper Sound Waves Summer Party Jam Series...

If I Had A Nickel - Jessie Allen Cooper (Original Song)

The second video of the 6-video series is the song “If I Had a Nickel,” (for every time I sang the blues), which happened from a spontaneous jam. The song is reminiscent of The Almond Brothers, Boz Scaggs, or a Chicago Blues late-night party. The band consisted of Larry Hammond (BrohamM) on vocals (right-handed drummer on a DW set) and my brother Jerry Cooper (left-handed drummer on a classic Ludwig set) playing drums together. Steve Schlect (Moon Daddy) and Gary Tobin on guitar, Bailey on bass, and me on Harmonica and vocal. This was the first time using two drum sets in the studio and I love the powerful backbone that two drummers create playing together, especially when right-and-left-handed drummers are facing and playing off of one another.

Herr Mannelig - Chronilus (Traditional Cover)

The third video of the 6-video series is the song “Herr Mannelig”, by the group Chronilus. The song is reminiscent of a group playing at a Renaissance fair in a joyful mood. The group members are Man- fred More on guitar, Sonia MJ on vocal and hand drum, and Bran the Bard on vocals and mandolin.

Let It Whip - BroHamM (Dazz Band Cover)

The fourth video in the 6-video series covers "Let it Whip" by the Dazz Band, performed by BrohamM. The group BrohamM is a six-piece band featuring Larry, Curtis, and Lenard Hammond. The group is busy doing gigs all over Washington State. Gary Tobin plays guitar, James Paulter plays keyboard, and Baily Richard plays bass for the band. They both help to bring the group to life with their great playing and up-tempo energy.

First Light - Jessie Allen Cooper (Freddie Hubbard Cover)

The fifth video in the 6-video series is the song "First Light," a tempo, soprano saxophone feature by "Freddie Hubbard," performed by Jessie Allen Cooper and Friends. The band consisted of Larry Ham- mond (BrohamM), a right-handed drummer on a DW set, and my brother Jerry Cooper, a left-handed drummer on a classic Ludwig set, playing drums together. Steve Schlect (Moon Daddy), Gary Tobin on guitar, Bailey Richard on bass, and me on a Wayne Shorter-style soprano saxophone. This was the first time using two drum sets in the studio, and I love the robust backbone that two drummers create playing together, especially when right-and-left-handed drummers are facing and playing off of one an- other.

Soul Sacrifice - Moon Daddy (Santana Cover)

The sixth video of the 6-video series is the song Soul Sacrifice, a Santana song played by Moon Daddy Band. The group members are Steve Schlecht on guitar, Bob (Babo) Stark on bass, Dave Chavez on Keyboards, Randy Hiatt on drums (left in video), Jorge Ricky Flores on percussion, and Jerry Cooper on Drums (right in video).
